Are you looking to replace your rearview mirror covers yourself ?
We created this step-by-step installation guide to help you.
We offer several models of mirror caps in glossy black and carbon finishes for the entire Audi range , from the Audi A3 8P to the Audi Q5, including the Audi A5 B9. These are made from the same ABS material as your original OEM parts fitted as standard on your vehicle.
Duration: 5 minutes
Tools needed: Flathead screwdriver or plastic pry bar (recommended)
Several installation methods exist depending on your model:
- Audi A1 (2010 to 2018)
For Audi without Side Assist function (Blind Spot Detection)
There is no need to remove the side mirrors and there are no screws on the mirror housings. They are simply held in place by clips.
Use the plastic lever provided in your Euro Racing Parts order or a flathead screwdriver to unclip your mirror housing by sliding it outwards from the car.

For Audi with Side Assist function (Blind Spot Detection)
1. Remove the mirror to access the two screws that hold the caps in place.
First, raise the mirror as high as possible to facilitate access to the bottom edge of the mirror.

First, raise the mirror glass as high as possible using the mirror adjustment motor.
Next, use a wide tool to pry out the bottom of the mirror, such as a flathead screwdriver or a plastic lever.

Next, once the bottom section is out, use the mirror adjustment motor to lower it as far as possible and unclip the top section—be careful to hold the glass securely. The following photo shows the heating wires (left) and the auto-dimming wires (right).

2. Detach the wires and set aside the mirror glass ( note the polarity of the heating wires ).
Two Torx T10 screws hold the mirror housings in place (along with a few clips).

3. Use the lever to separate the rearview mirror cover from its black plastic frame (rear edge of the mirror). Apply pressure once you've positioned the tool in the gap to release it—again, take your time and work on both the outer and inner edges.
Once it's out of the black frame, you can release it from the clips by pushing the mirror cover towards the front of the car. The best place for this is on the outer edge, just above the turn signal.
Since your vehicle is equipped with a blind spot indicator, the rearview mirror housing was still attached to the car by the indicator light wiring harness. Remove the turn signal by pressing the large tab and pushing it out from the inside.

4. Install the mirror covers in the reverse order of removal. Install the blind spot light and wiring.
Place the mirror cover in position and push it firmly to engage the clips. Secure it with the two screws you removed.
Connect the heating and auto-dimming wires for the light intensity and ensure that the two plastic "arms" of the mirror fit into the metal clips inside the housing.
Once in place, firmly push the ice cream with the palm of your hand to reconnect it to the motor (push from the center of the ice cream). Check that it adjusts as usual, and you're all set.
